The artist residency connects to the gallery through a community gathering space and artist workshop called The Workshop, a library and meeting space open daily where artists in residence work in public view and engage the community through participatory programs. We also maintain a formal gallery that showcases the breadth of contemporary art, while this integrated setup allows us to explore the interplay between the production of artworks and their exhibition, situating the viewer at the center of an ongoing, participatory exchange. In this way, the structure of our organization itself becomes a social sculpture: the way people, spaces, and activities are arranged and interact is part of the artistic form we create together.
Founded in 2026, Insite Workshop supports sculpture and multi-disciplinary artists in the production and exhibition of new work. We host gallery exhibitions and an artist residency out of our workshop in South Philadelphia and regularly host classes for the public. By providing facilities, funding, and exhibition space, we encourage artists to push the boundaries of their practices and engage communities with social, political, and environmental issues.
Insite Workshop believes that contemporary art can be a tool for social change. artists thrive when they are supported, can collaborate with peers, work deeply in their medium, and share their work publicly.
We believes that artist support should include the full artmaking cycle: ideation
reconfigure relationality
