Insite Workshop believes that art can sculpt society, and that as social sculptors, artists can transform not only materials and space, but also forms of being and assemblages of people. We support socially engaged artistic practices because when artists have financial support and a public platform, they have the capacity to imagine futures, build community, and affect change.
For us, artist support includes the full artmaking cycle, each step of which invites public participation: ideation, experimentation, collaboration, production, and exhibition. As Insite Workshop’s core program, the Artist Residency situates artists as community leaders who bring people together through shared, long-term inquiry into processes, materials, and concepts.
